The Nissan Ariya is Back With a New Design in 2024

Prepare to embark on a journey into the future with the newly revamped 2024 Nissan Ariya Electric SUV. Pushing boundaries and reshaping the idea of electric vehicles (EVs), the Ariya is a testament of Nissan's dedication to innovation, sustainability, and state-of-the-art technology.

Design that Inspires

The Ariya is built on an all-new electric vehicle platform, purpose-built for electric power. Its sleek, aerodynamic shape captures a contemporary essence while staying true to Nissan's distinctive style. Following the design philosophy of "Timeless Japanese Futurism," drawing from Japanese aesthetics, it exudes strength through simplicity. Featuring slender LED headlamps composed of four 20-mm mini-projectors, a substantial "aerodynamic shield" replacing the conventional grille, and descending LED DRLs, the Ariya radiates an unmistakable air of refinement.

Electric Performance Redefined

Underneath its polished surface resides a powerful electric core. Tailored to cater to diverse preferences, the 2024 Nissan Ariya’s specs accommodate each person’s individual needs. The Venture+ model offers an impressive range of up to 304 miles on a single charge, allowing drivers to explore without boundaries. The base Engage trim offers slightly less range due to that model's smaller battery pack, which is rated for 216 miles per charge. Whether it's through the city streets or winding country roads, the 2024 Ariya's all-electric powertrain delivers a smooth and exhilarating driving experience.

Innovation at Your Fingertips

The 2024 Nissan Ariya's interior embodies spaciousness and contemporary style, featuring a minimalist design that merges sophistication with functionality. It incorporates a flat, lowered floor, creating a spacious feeling inside. Adorned with wood-trim elements and equipped with haptic buttons on the dashboard, the Ariya's interior indulges in premium materials and customizable ambient lighting, aiming to create a haven for both drivers and passengers.

2024 Nissan Ariya interior

At the heart of the Ariya's interior lies its groundbreaking technology suite. The Nissan Intelligent Mobility system ensures seamless connectivity while on the move. A generously sized touchscreen display grants access to all vehicle functions, while a head-up display projects vital information onto the windshield. Meanwhile, the Bose Premium Audio System envelopes the cabin with top-notch sound quality. This user-friendly infotainment system seamlessly integrates entertainment, navigation, and vehicle controls for easy access.

Safety Meets Intelligence

Safety is an important aspect of the Ariya. It comes equipped with Nissan's ProPILOT Assist 2.0, a semi-autonomous driving system that aids in lane centering, maintaining a safe following distance from other vehicles, and navigating stop-and-go traffic. Additionally, the Ariya boasts Nissan's e-Pedal, enabling drivers to control acceleration and braking with a single pedal. With a range of advanced driver-assistance capabilities and intelligent emergency braking systems, the Ariya is meticulously crafted to prioritize your safety and that of those sharing the road with you.

Embracing Sustainability

Beyond its remarkable performance and futuristic aesthetics, the 2024 Ariya presents numerous advantages compared to conventional gasoline-powered cars. One of the most significant perks of electric vehicles is their zero tailpipe emissions, significantly benefiting the environment in comparison to gasoline-fueled vehicles. Additionally, electric cars demand less maintenance due to their fewer moving components and the absence of needs like oil changes or tune-ups. As a fully electric vehicle, the 2024 Ariya actively participates in curbing carbon emissions and reducing its ecological impact. Opting for the Ariya means joining a movement toward a more sustainable future.

A Nissan Rogue Comparison

Comparing the Nissan Rogue

Choosing the perfect compact SUV can be a daunting task, given the myriad of options available in the market. Among the top contenders are the Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson, and Honda CR-V. These vehicles offer a blend of style, performance, and practicality, making them favorites among families, adventurers, and daily commuters alike. But which is the best option for your family? We'll delve into a detailed comparison of these three popular compact SUVs, helping you make an informed decision when considering your next purchase.

How Does The Nissan Rogue Compare

Design and Exterior:

The design of a vehicle often sets the tone for its personality and appeal. Right from first glance, the Nissan Rogue's design sets it apart. Its bold V-Motion grille, distinctive LED lighting, and sculpted lines create an eye-catching and dynamic exterior. The Hyundai Tucson, on the other hand, exhibits a more futuristic design, with angular shapes and a prominent front grille. The Honda CR-V opts for a slightly conservative yet refined design, with its trademark grille and streamlined silhouette.

2023 Rogue

Interior and Comfort:

Step inside the 2023 Nissan Rogue, and you'll immediately notice the premium materials and attention to detail. The Rogue offers a premium feel with high-quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. Its interior features a full digital instrument panel and an airy, spacious interior. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Tucson boasts a driver-focused layout with intuitive controls, while the Honda CR-V's interior focuses on practicality and ergonomic design, ensuring that everything is within easy reach of the driver. While the Tucson and CR-V provide comfortable interiors, the Rogue's high-quality finishes and well-thought-out layout elevate it to a more luxurious level.

Performance and Handling:

Performance is a crucial factor in the SUV segment, and these three models offer a range of engine options to cater to different preferences. The Nissan Rogue comes with a unique fuel-efficient turbocharged three-cylinder engine, delivering a balanced mix of power and fuel economy. Under the hood, the Rogue boasts an efficient and responsive powertrain that strikes a balance between performance and fuel economy. Its engine options provide ample power for both city commutes and highway drives. The Hyundai Tucson offers a similar engine lineup but suffers from nitpicky acceleration and a push-button shifter takes getting used to. The Honda CR-V offers drivers an efficient powertrain, but the base turbo engine provides only modest acceleration. When faced with the competition, the Rogue's refined performance gives it an edge, enhancing the overall driving experience.

2023 Rogue Performance

Technology and Infotainment:

Modern SUVs are expected to be equipped with advanced technology features, and the 2023 Nissan Rogue does not disappoint. Featuring a user-friendly infotainment system, smartphone integration, and advanced driver assistance systems, the Rogue offers easy-to-use technology at your fingertips. Higher trims offer a larger touchscreen, a digital gauge cluster, and a head-up display, along with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay phone integration. The Hyundai Tucson offers a comprehensive infotainment setup with a large touchscreen and available digital instrument cluster while the Honda CR-V boasts a reputation for safety, equipped with Honda Sensing, their suite of safety and driver assistance technologies. However, the Rogue's seamless connectivity and driver-assistance technologies give it a technological edge.

Cargo Space and Practicality:

One of the main reasons people opt for compact SUVs is the balance of interior space and practicality, and the 2023 Nissan Rogue boasts an impressively spacious interior with ample cargo space and versatile rear seat configurations. The Rogue is known for its Divide-N-Hide cargo system, offering creative storage solutions. Convenience storage cubbies, a bi-level dashboard, and a squared-off shift knob offer the Rogue a modern flair and improved usability. By comparison, the Tucson offers a hands-free power liftgate for added convenience, while the CR-V's rear seats fold flat with ease to accommodate larger items. While all three models provide ample cargo space, the Rogue's versatile storage options make it exceptionally convenient for various needs.

Fuel Efficiency and Economy:

In the age of rising fuel costs and environmental awareness, fuel efficiency plays a crucial role in choosing a vehicle. The Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson, and Honda CR-V all offer competitive fuel economy figures across their engine options. The Rogue’s turbocharged three-cylinder engine offers an impressive 30 mpg city and 37 mpg highway with the Tucson and CR-V falling close behind it. Hybrid variants are also available for the Rogue and CR-V, providing even better efficiency for eco-conscious drivers.

Is the Nissan Rogue For You

When comparing the Nissan Rogue against its rivals, the Hyundai Tucson and the Honda CR-V, it becomes clear that the Rogue excels in multiple aspects. Its striking design, premium interior, cutting-edge technology, exceptional performance, practical storage solutions, and comprehensive safety features make it a top contender in the compact SUV market and among the best Nissan SUVs. While all three vehicles have their strengths, the Nissan Rogue stands out as a well-rounded choice that caters to the modern driver's desires and demands. Make Sure Your Ready With These Fall Car Care Month Tips

Fall is finally here! The weather’s getting cooler, leaves are changing color, all signs that winter is not far behind. And while we may not be able to get you mentally ready for the change of the seasons, we can certainly help you prepare your car for fall and winter! Welcome to Fall Car Care Month at Gastonia Nissan!

The Quintessential Fall Car Care Month Checklist

Fall is the perfect time to start checking up on your car. The weather isn’t entirely too cold yet, the Holidays are still a ways off, and you aren’t facing any severe weather conditions. The autumn season is prime for getting out in the garage or bringing your car to our service centers to get everything checked out before the real test of your car’s performance comes.

Now you may be asking yourself, why is it important to check up on your car before winter? Well, dealing with car problems when it’s cold out is just not a great time. And we want you to always have a good time driving your Nissan. And while these tips may seem like common sense, you’d be surprised just how often these can fly under the radar and end up causing much more serious problems down the line.

Fall Car Care Checklist

15 Tips to Prepare Your Car For Winter

  • Checking and Refilling Fluids: All of your fluids play a crucial role in keeping your Nissan performing at its absolute best, and during the cooler months you don’t need anything less. Taking a look at your oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and transmission fluid and refilling or changing any needed is a great way to prepare your car for the winter months ahead. Also, checking your antifreeze/coolant is an absolute must, as that will keep your engine from getting too cold should the temps drop.
  • Change the Oil and Filters: While we’re on the topic of fluids, your oil is a big one that you should be up to date on. Ignoring an oil change, especially in winter is not a great idea. Old oil in your system greatly increases the risk of your engine overheating, severely damaging the engine. Check when your Nissan is due for its next oil change and make sure you get the filters changed as well. That way your brand-new oil stays new for as long as possible!
  • Test the Heating/HVAC: Yes, your AC system may seem like an afterthought when it comes to having to prepare your car for winter and Fall car care. However, your HVAC is also responsible for filtering the air, dehumidifying your windshield, and heating your car. So making sure everything there is in working order before the weather gets too cold is probably a good idea.
  • Tighten Your Hoses: Making sure your antifreeze and fluids are all topped off is great, but it won’t do you any good if it can’t reach your engine. If your hoses have any leaks or breaks, there’s a good chance you’ll overheat your engine when the cold weather hits and your engine has to work overtime to keep it warm. Be sure to give your hoses a good look over and tighten any that seem loose.
  • Look at Your Belts: This actually goes hand in hand with your hoses. Hot summer months can severely degrade the belts in your engine. When checking under the hood, you should look for any signs of excessive wear, fraying, cracks, or looseness. If you do notice any of these, bring your Nissan over to Gastonia Nissan and we’ll set you up with a new belt.
  • Test Your Exhaust: Checking your exhaust system as part of your fall car care checklist could actually save your life. If there’s a leak in your exhaust, carbon monoxide could seep into your car. Not only that, but a damaged exhaust system can also result in lower mileage. Keep on the lookout for weird noises, smells, a vibrating gas pedal, or a rumble when your car is sitting still. All are signs that your exhaust system is damaged. Our Nissan -certified technicians will look for rust, holes, leaks, and other damage that may be present during our inspection.
  • Check Your Brakes: You want to be able to stop when you need to stop right? Especially if the weather is giving you trouble, you don’t want your brakes to be something else to worry about. Bring your Nissan over to Gastonia Nissan and our service team will make sure your brake system is in good working order. Replacing your brake pads and rotors is an essential part of your Fall car care and winter prep.
  • Inspect All 4 Tires: The quality of your tires is just as important as that of your brakes. If your tires are worn down, they’re not going to do you much good in snow or rain. Make sure to not only check the tread but also their pressure. Tires lose pressure when the temperature drops and changing a flat in 30-degree weather isn’t fun. If you really want to future-proof yourself, getting a good set of snow tires or all-season tires will be greatly beneficial.
  • Pay Attention to Steering and Suspension: You want to be in complete control of your Nissan in the event of bad weather. Making sure your power steering and suspension are up to par is the best way to remain in control at all times. If you’re worried, our team can take a look at your shock absorbers, struts, and chassis to see if anything needs adjusting or replacing.
  • Test The Battery: Bering able to rely on your battery during the winter months can be a huge weight off your shoulders. So be sure to check the charge and quality of your current battery. If it’s been more than three years, it may be time to replace the battery completely. Visit our service center and we’ll be able to set you up with a brand-new battery just in time for Winter.
  • Replace Your Wipers: Did you know that the quality of your windshield wipers actually factors into your yearly inspection? That’s because if your wipers are leaving heavy streaks on your windshield, you will not have very good visibility. And visibility is essential in any type of winter weather.
  • Wash Your Car: This may definitely seem unnecessary, but hear us out for a second. Cleaning your car of all the summer mildew and dirt can help prepare it for what’s coming. Waxing your car can also protect it from snow, ice, and salt. Furthermore, it’s a good idea to regularly clean your car after it snows. Icemelt and salt can accumulate and erode certain components of your undercarriage if left on for extended periods of time. While not as immediately important as other tips on your Fall car care list, it won’t hurt.
  • Clean Your Headlights: Between dead bulbs and cloudy headlight covers, there’s enough to check to warrant this being on your Fall car care list. Your headlights do two things out on the road. They help you see what’s in front of you, and they help other drivers see you. Check your bulbs and clean your headlight covers and ensure both of these functions are unimpeded.
  • Pack Roadside Kit: If the unfortunate happens and you have car issues or slide on ice or snow, having a pack of supplies to fall back on is a great idea. Some things that should be in your roadside kit include an ice scraper, jumper cables, a flashlight, blankets, bottled water, non-perishable food, and a first aid kit. You can never be too careful.
  • Get AAA/Roadside Assistance: No Fall car care list would be complete without roadside assistance. These guys can be literal life savers and save you from having to sit out in the cold waiting on a tow company and praying that they’re open. Companies like AAA offer 24/7 support and assistance so they’re always there when you need them.

Stay On Top of Your Fall Car Care

It may seem like a lot to keep track of, but if you follow this Fall car care checklist, you’ll be more than prepared for when the colder months roll around. And if there’s anything you need to replace or you can’t check out yourself, you can always make Gastonia Nissan a part of your winter car prep by scheduling an appointment with our service center in Gastonia. Make sure you prepare your car for winter right with Gastonia Nissan!

2021 Nissan Rogue vs. 2021 Mazda CX-5

2021 Nissan Rogue vs. 2021 Mazda CX-5

Buyers in America have developed a fancy for the compact SUV segment, resulting in a slew of models in this division. These vehicles are just the right size to haul passengers, pets, and cargo without reducing fuel economy or performance. Two vehicles that several customers have considered or continue to look at are the 2021 Nissan Rogue and the 2021 Mazda CX-5. Both these vehicles have received major upgrades for 2021. While the Rogue gets more power and standard features, the CX-5 gets a larger touchscreen as standard, offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The comparisons given here are meant to help buyers choose from the two evenly matched SUVs:

a) Trims- More trims are on offer for the 2021 Mazda CX-5 as compared to the 2021 Nissan Rogue. Expect the CX-5 to be available in a total of six trims, namely Touring, Grand Touring, Sport, Grand Touring Reserve, Signature, and Carbon Edition (new for 2021). In comparison to this, customers can choose from four trims of the Rogue, which are:

  • S
  • SL
  • Platinum
  • SV

b) Exteriors- The Mazda CX-5 looks sportier from the front as compared to the Nissan Rogue. However, the latter gets LED headlights as standard on all trims, which is not true of the CX-5. 17 and 19-inch alloys are available on the CX-5, as opposed to 18-inch wheels on the Rogue. Overall, the Rogue does look like a fancier SUV from the outside.

c) Comfortable Seats- The 2021 Nissan Rogue definitely scores higher in this department due to its super comfortable Zero Gravity seats that are considered ideal for long distances. With the rear door openings being wide, ingress and egress from the vehicle are easy.  On the other hand, three adults seated in the 2021 Mazda CX-5 rear seat may feel cramped. Compared to the Rogue, the CX-5 is better suited to transport four people.

d) Warranty- Basic and Powertrain warranties on both vehicles are exactly the same, although the Mazda SUV does come with a higher reliability rating. While Basic warranties for both are 3 years/ 36,000 miles, Powertrain warranties can be used as per 5 years/ 60,000 miles.

e) Rear Cargo Space- The Rogue scores over the CX-5 in terms of rear cargo space as well. While space extends up to 36.5 cubic feet on the Rogue, it stands at 31 cubic feet for the CX-5.

f) Infotainment- Expect the Rogue to be available with an 8.0-inch touch screen that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Although this system is very easy to use, it can get slow while processing commands.  A 10-speaker Bose premium stereo and two rear USB ports are also available here.

Compared to the above, the CX-5 is available with a 10.25-inch touch screen that is bigger than the 7.0 or 8.0-inch systems in its previous model. Bluetooth and a WiFi hotspot are also available with this vehicle.

g) Engine- Customers will find the 2021 Mazda CX-5 to offer a livelier engine than the 2021 Nissan Rogue. Power developed by the former is 187 hp, which gets transmitted faster than 181 hp of the latter. The transmission on the Rogue is a slow and whining CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), compared to the CX-5’s 6-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Nissan Murano Vs. 2021 Honda Passport

2021 Nissan Murano Vs. 2021 Honda Passport

In the United States, the crossover market is in full swing with no signs of slowing down. Both Honda and Nissan have suitable products in this segment, with Passport and Murano being two of them. Customers who prioritize function over style should choose the Honda Passport over the Nissan Murano in 2021. Here are some other characteristics from this comparison:

  • Appearance From the Outside- The 2021 Nissan Murano is arguably the more attractive vehicle of the two, but the latter tops it in terms of interior space. The Murano looks sharper thanks to the LED headlights and V-Motion grille, as well as its forward-leaning stance. In comparison, the 2021 Honda Passport looks like a complete vehicle, but its external appearance is very simple.
  • Rear Cargo Area- The ability to carry more rear cargo is one of the main reasons the 2021 Honda Passport is more practical. It has 41.2 cubic feet of cargo space, compared to 32.1 cubic feet in the 2021 Nissan Murano. Passengers will have more space and be more comfortable. probably in the passport.
  • Drive Options- FWD (Front-Wheel-Drive) and AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) drive options are available on both compact SUVs. AWD is available for an additional price over and above the FWD.
  • Engines - Customers will notice that the 2021 Honda Passport is the more powerful vehicle during test drives, as evidenced by the specifications. When compared to Murano's 260 hp and 240 lbs.-ft of torque, it produces 280 hp and 261 lbs.-ft of torque.
  • Dependability- Honda is a more reliable brand than Nissan, and the same goes for the cars mentioned above. Honda has proven in the past with vehicles like the Civic and CR-V that their cars can last for years without breakdowns. Because of a higher reliability rating, the Passport has a higher resale value.
  • Quality of Interiors- Honda Passport outperforms the Nissan Murano in terms of interior quality, which appears to be modern. Customers will most likely find themselves in the 2021 Nissan Murano surrounded by outmoded interiors.
  • Fuel Economy- The Murano beats the Passport in this category. The Murano will get 20mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway, according to Nissan. The 2021 Honda Passport isn't far behind, with a fuel economy of 21mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway. Fuel economy is a key factor that usually influences buyers' purchasing decisions.
  • Warranty Programs- Both the 2021 Honda Passport and the 2021 Nissan Murano are available with the same Basic and Powertrain warranties. Details of these warranty programs have been given below:

2021 Honda Passport 2021 Nissan Murano
Basic Warranty

36,000 miles in 3 years

36,000 miles in 3 years

Powertrain Warranty 60,000 kilometers in 5 years

60,000 kilometers in 5 years

  • Safety Features- The 2021 Nissan Murano has an extensive list of standard driver assistance features, far more so than the 2021 Honda Passport. Although both manufacturers offer their own safety packages (Nissan Safety Shield 360 vs. Honda Sensing Suite), the Murano is the only vehicle to offer this tut has advanced features such as automatic rear braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.
